AdMob Receives Big Bucks In Series B Funding

By Jason McMaster |

AdMob, a mobile advertising company, has announced that they’ve received a $15 million investment in a series b round of funding. According to a report at Mobile Industry, this new round of funding is going “to develop new solutions that will make it easier for advertising customers to leverage mobile.” This round of funding was led by Accel Partners, with the help of previous investor Sequoia Capital. So what’s in store for AdMob this year? Quite a bit of ad impressions, if the numbers are right.Over the last couple of years, mobile advertising has gone wild. With constant growth in the mobile gaming market, we’re bound to see companies like AdMob grow at a highly accelerated pace. Of course, a company like AdMob is attractive due to their wide reach, which extends to over 160 countries and has the support of over 1200 publishers. During the last 6 months of 2006, the company had 1 billion ad impressions, and so far this year, they’ve had over 600 million. If this trend continues, it’s going to be a good year for mobile advertising.
